Indoor Dining Dublin: Nightclubs, casinos and bingo halls to remain closed as pubs reopen

Indoor dining in 'wet' pubs has made a welcome return after over 16 months closed in some cases.

Pubs and restaurants will have to follow a number of rules when allowing indoor dining. These include taking the contact details from one of your group, not everyone, as was originally planned.

Other regulations include table service only and no sitting at the bar. Every entrance and exit will be manned by a member of staff and there will be no time limit imposed.

Customers will also have to prove that they are either fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid 19 in the last six months.

There are still a number of indoor activities that remain closed and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Indoor events such as large conferences, concerts and shows are still not permitted.

Indoor sporting activities such as matches, group/team training and exercise/dance classes are not allowed under the current guidelines.

One of the more controversial regulations is how the Government has asked that baptisms, confirmations and communions be suspended for the time being.

A number of other indoor activities are not resuming today with no definite timeline on when they can resume.

Bingo halls, amusement arcades, play centres and other leisure facilities, and circuses will all remain closed for the time being.

Nightclubs, discos and casinos all remain shut and will likely be the last sector to reopen.
