IndiGo flight diverts to Karachi due to medical emergency onboard

  (Source: The Hindu)

An IndiGo flight from Sharjah to Lucknow was diverted to Karachi on Tuesday morning following a medical emergency onboard.

When the flight landed, the passenger could not be revived and was declared dead on arrival by the airport medical team, IndiGo said in a press statement.

"We are deeply saddened with the news and our prayers and wishes are with his family," the airline said.

IndiGo's flight 6E 1412 took off from Sharjah at 1.50am and landed at Karachi three hours later, according to flight tracking website flightradar24. The aircraft is yet to resume the remainder of the journey.

No Indian airline operates flights to Pakistan, though they use its airspace to connect to other countries.
