Camera Obscura – Lloyd, I’m Ready to Be Heartbroken
Camera Obscura have played twice at Indietracks now – the first time in 2009 when we partnered with Elefant Records and again in 2013. They’re very much loved by us, and even if the band aren’t playing, you can guarantee this song will be a dancefloor hit at one of our festival discos. We were all absolutely devastated to hear about their keyboardist Carey passing away, and we’ll be fundraising for Sarcoma UK at the festival this year. In the meantime you can donate at Just Giving.
The Spook School – I’ll Be Honest
The Spook School are headlining on Friday night this year, and we simply cannot wait to see what they have in store for us! They’re one of the most fun bands that have ever played Indietracks, and whatever they have planned, I’m sure it will be amazing and hilarious in equal measure!
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – Young Adult Friction
We’re huge fans of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. They first played for us back in 2010 and said we were the “best festival we could ever possibly play”, which was such a thrill for us! It was a glorious set and a really special moment for indie-pop fans who’d been following them all across the country that year.
The Tuts – Do I Have to Look for Love?
Bands like the Tuts are what Indietracks is really all about. They’re resolutely DIY, and show that you don’t have to have the backing of a major record label to put on brilliant shows and build up a committed fanbase. Their sets for Indietracks have always been raucous and energetic – it’s impossible not to dance when they play!
Allo Darlin’ – My Heart Is a Drummer
Allo Darlin’ are one of my favourite ever bands to play Indietracks. As we’ve grown, so have they. From Elizabeth playing an impromptu solo set on the platform in 2008, to their beautiful headline performance in 2014, the festival always feels complete when they’re on the bill.
• This year’s festival will be held on 29-31 July and is being headlined by Saint Etienne and the Aislers Set. Tickets are available from indietracks.co.uk/tickets
