Indie restaurant that sells 'the UK's best burger' is coming to Newport

Self-proclaimed makers of the “UK’s best burger” are set to open an outlet in Newport on Thursday, 21st October.

Lynchburger, which will be the third outlet in the UK for the Liverpool company, will be based on Enterprise Way in the Pillgwenlly area of the city.

Posting briefly on social media, Lynchburger said “Newport, Wales - We’re coming - See you in October ”.

Lynchburger was founded in 2021, by entrepreneur Ryan Lynch who is also the owner of Dough, a four-strong North West based pizza company which has been billed by the Liverpool Echo as “the pizza company Scousers think is better than Domino's”.

Lynchburger came about after Ryan travelled across the USA and experienced “the finest burger cuisine”. So, he decided to bring his own take on a US-style burger back to the UK.

After two years of recipe development and several pop-ups later, Lynchburger was established.

Lynchburger’s burgers are made with 28-day aged chuck mince, secret sauce, an in-house cheese blend and potato buns flown in from America.

They certainly look the business, with a seriously crisp crust from being smashed onto a griddle, a good ooze of American style cheese, a squishy potato bun and soft caramelised onions.

Menu options include the cheese lynchburger (£5.50), pastrami lynchburger (£7.95) and the rice crispie chicken lynchburger (£8.50), which combines rice crispie fried chicken, secret sauce, buffalo sauce and blue cheese.

Sides include buffalo and blue cheese criss cross fries (£6) and truffled hash browns (£3.50) whilst the single dessert available is calorific sounding deep fried oreos (£6).

Whilst there are no further details available about the Newport branch, if they’re serving something anywhere close to the UK’s best burger then it’ll most certainly be worth a visit.
