Indiana’s Curt Cignetti Makes Ultimate Flex About Winning Record: ‘Google Me’

Indiana Hoosiers football coach Curt Cignetti, who was hired away from James Madison at the end of November, was not shy about the winning record he has accumulated in his coaching career during a National Signing Day press conference on Wednesday.

Indiana, marred by three straight losing seasons under previous coach Tom Allen, looked to Cignetti, who is seen as a rising star in the coaching ranks after leading the Dukes to an 11—1 record in 2023. But if you ask Cignetti, he’s not a rising star—he’s already made it.

The new Hoosiers coach was asked how he sells his vision to recruits and players in the transfer portal. Cignetti responded with the ultimate flex, telling the media he tells prospective players to “Google” him, via All Hogs‘ Jacob Davis on X (formerly Twitter).

"It's pretty simple. I win. Google me," said Cignetti.

Now that is confidence. As seemingly boastful as he comes across, Cignetti certainly has a point. In his 41-year coaching career, spanning stops at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania, FCS program Elon and James Madison, Cignetti has compiled a 119–35 record.

He led the Dukes to a 19–4 mark in their first two years as an FBS program. With a record like that, Cignetti is one of the few coaches who can say something as confident as “Google me” and actually have the facts to back it up.
