Indiana Jones legend Harrison Ford visits North Shields restaurant The Ship's Cat

A North Shields restaurant had a pretty special customer on Tuesday - Hollywood legend Harrison Ford.

As stunned customers watched on, Han Solo himself popped into The Ship's Cat for a bite to eat.

The superstar is currently filming the fifth Indiana Jones movie at Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland.

And he appeared relaxed as, kitted out in cycling gear, he chatted to customers and posed for selfies.

Sources told ChronicleLive that the 78-year-old ordered the £17.95 sea bass, along with an £11.50 bowl of mussels - although management remained tight-lipped.

And the venue insisted their A-list guest was treated like "a normal customer" during his visit to the popular Fish Quay venue.

The Bamburgh Castle shoot has seen the Northumberland landmark transported into a film set, with barbed wire erected and the castle closed to the public for the rest of the week.

And the castle was even 'set ablaze' for one of the scenes in the as yet unnamed instalment in the iconic franchise.

The movie, set to be released in 2022, will also reportedly star Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen.

It is one of two major films currently being filmed in Northumberland.

Dungeons and Dragons, which has a huge cast including Hugh Grant and Chris Pine, has been shot in Alnwick this week.
