Indiana Jones' Harrison Ford spotted in new location after North Shields visit

Hollywood A-lister Harrison Ford has been spotted elsewhere in the North East after being spotted in North Shields.

The big name movie star has been in the region to shoot the highly anticipated new Indiana Jones movie, with filming at Bamburgh Castle attracting a lot of attention from locals as flames could be seen from the famous landmark.

Harrison, also famous for roles in the likes of the Star Wars franchise, Air Force One and The Fugitive, then took some time to explore a bit further afield and ended up at North Shields' pub The Ship's Cat, much to the delight of those who spotted him.

Well now the 78-year-old has been seen somewhere else, this time in North Yorkshire as filming for the fifth Indiana Jones film continues.

His spell in the area made breakfast TV with Lorraine Kelly discussing it with Hollywood correspondent Ross King on her show on Wednesday.

He was pictured in the usually quiet village of Grosmont and caught the attention of a young fan who got an unexpected response from him.

The child's mum took to Twitter to upload a picture of Harrison on set and wrote: "Look who walked right past us in Grosmont today.

"Our son asked him if he was Indiana Jones and he tipped his hat and said no, he was just the stunt double."

Appearing live via video link from Los Angeles, showbiz pundit Ross also dropped the bombshell that Harrison wasn't actually the first choice to play action hero Indiana Jones.

Ross revealed the first choice was Magnum PI actor Tom Selleck, who later went on to star as Monica's much older boyfriend Richard in Friends.

He also told Lorraine that Michelle Pfieffer nearly got the lead in Pretty Women instead of Julia Roberts and John Travolta was in contention to take the lead in Forrest Gump.
