An Indiana couple was charged with public indecency after allegedly groping each other during a children's dance recital at Lake Central High School.
The incident occurred at a school auditorium in St. John, Indiana, where families and children gathered for an afternoon performance, according to the Chicago Tribune. Around 4:30 p.m., event security was alerted to inappropriate behavior taking place in the balcony section, where several attendees, including young children, witnessed a man and woman fondling each other.
According to court records, security officers observed the couple, later identified as Steven M. Ulman and Carly Ann Dominski, with their hands down each other's unbuttoned pants during the performance. While no genitalia were exposed, the act was witnessed by multiple families nearby.
An officer quietly approached them before they noticed, at which point they buttoned their pants and left the theater. They attempted to flee the premises, but were intercepted in their SUV by responding officers.
Ulman complied with police and provided his ID, while Dominski gave a false name. After searching her purse, officers discovered her true identity and found she had active warrants, including for false informing and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ulman was charged with public indecency and is scheduled to appear in court on July 8. Dominski faces charges of public indecency and false reporting. The school district has not issued a formal statement but is reportedly reviewing event security measures in response.
