Indian Super League announces schedule of final and playoffs

The organizers of the Indian Super League (ISL) have announced that the final of the 2023-24 season will take place on May 4, with the playoffs kicking off from April 19.

The venue for the final will be disclosed shortly, according to Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), the league's governing body.

"The season final will be held on May 4. The fight for a place in the final starts from April 19 with the knockout matches, followed by the semi-finals in home-and-away format," the ISL said in a statement.

In the ISL 2023-24 season, the top two teams from the league stage will secure direct berths to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, teams ranking third to sixth will engage in single-leg playoffs, adopting a knockout format to determine the remaining two semi-finalists.

This season of the ISL has witnessed intense competition, with Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan contending for the League Winners Shield.

The six playoff contenders are now confirmed, with Chennaiyin FC securing the final spot following East Bengal FC's defeat to Punjab FC on Wednesday.

Joining Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan SG, Odisha FC, FC Goa and Kerala Blasters FC had previously secured their spots in the playoffs.

Schedule of the Playoffs:

Knockouts: April 19 and 20

Semi-finals (1st leg): April 23 and 24

Semi-finals (2nd leg): April 28 & 29

Final: May 4
