Indian street food restaurant Mowgli is coming to Edinburgh in 2020

Indian street food chain Mowgli plans to open up in Edinburgh next year, promising authentic dishes with the flavour of the subcontinent.

The eatery specialises in types of food Indians eat at home and in the streets, with plenty of healthy and vegan options.

On the menu is a choice meals including the "Office Worker's Tiffin", which includes four tiers of meat and veg for £16 and the veggie-option "Indian School Tiffin" for £14.

You can expect some quirky decor as other Mowgli restaurants have featured benches suspended from ropes, fairy lights and indoor trees.

Mowgli was founded in Liverpool in 2014 and has since expanded to ten sites around the UK.

Nisha Katona's chain caused excitement among foodies in Leicester when it launched there earlier this year.

She says there will be new Mowgli branches in Bristol this month, followed by Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow in 2020.

An opening date and location have not been set for the Edinburgh branch, but we'll update our restaurant news pages as soon as they're announced.

Nisha told Big Hospitality she had never been more "passionate and positive about the future."
