'Indian society is notorious for abandoning married daughters': Kangana Ranaut warns young women about marriage pressure in viral post

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has reacted strongly to the recent Bhopal dowry death case, sharing an emotional message for young women on social media. Her remarks came after the death of a 33-year-old woman in Bhopal triggered nationwide outrage and renewed discussions around dowry harassment, emotional abuse, and women’s safety after marriage.

The actor used her Instagram Stories to speak about what she described as a harsh reality in Indian society, claiming many married women are often “abandoned” even when they seek help from their families.

Kangana Ranaut’s Message to Young Women Goes Viral

Kangana Ranaut’s statement quickly gained attention online after she advised women to focus on financial independence and career growth before considering marriage.

In her Instagram post, Kangana wrote, “So many tragic news about married young women comes up every day. Many of these young, educated ladies even beg their parents to help them out of their suffocating situations before tragedies strike them, but Indian society is notorious for abandoning daughters once they are married.”

The actor further encouraged women to prioritise self-reliance over societal pressure around marriage.
