Indian restaurants and JustEat to serve from 4am for England V India cricket match

Cricket fans getting up early to watch England play India this week can get their favourite Indian restaurant meals delivered to them - at 4am.

Joe Root's England team is currently 2-1 down against Virat Kohli's India ahead of the hotly anticipated final test match, which starts on Thursday in Ahmedabad.

With cricket starting each day at 4am UK time, some Indian restaurants will be serving up early bird Indian breakfasts to deliver to peckish fans watching it on TV.

Food delivery platform Just Eat has also enlisted the help of England hero, Monty Panesar, a key player in England's last triumphant tour of India back in 2012, to help launch the 4am full Indian breakfast service.

Monty said: "After a year with so little live sport, it has been fantastic to be able to watch such an exciting test series.

"With the result currently 2-1 to India, cricket fans all over the UK will be up early to watch the finale.

"What better way to start the test in India than with a taste of India."

Participating restaurants in London, Manchester and Birmingham will be available to deliver a full Indian breakfast to customers' doors from 4am-7am.

Cricket's return to terrestrial television has been a surprise hit this spring, with 1.1m viewers tuning in - despite the early rise.

Matt Bushby, UK marketing director for Just Eat, said: "With cricket back on terrestrial TV, and with everything still to play for, we wanted to deliver some joy to those loyal early morning risers by providing a tasty Full Indian to mark the occasion."
