Indian-origin woman Sarina Gupta opens up about viral video of racist attack at Connecticut store: 'Can't believe she is a nurse'

The Indian-origin woman from the viral video of a supermarket in Stamford, Connecticut, broke her silence and identified herself as Sarina Gupta, the woman who was told to go back to her country and to eat bacon by a white woman. The incident took place on June 2 and Gupta shot the video when a woman became angry as she was made to wait at the counter of Shoprite. The woman was later identified by social media users as Victoria Louise Mason, a nurse with The Nathaniel Witherell, a healthcare facility.

Gupta said it was her birthday and she was at the store to return some items. The process was taking longer than usual, and that's when she told Mason to go to any other counter, as she needed to be at the customer care as she was returning some items. Mason got angry and asked her to leave America when Gupta took out her phone and started recording.
