The agency said 40-year-old Sandeep Singh was taken into custody in Fairfield, California, after entering US illegally from Mexico in 2023. He is currently being held in ICE detention while immigration proceedings continue, which will determine whether he will be deported.

In a post shared on X, ICE San Francisco stated: “ICE San Francisco arrested illegal alien Sandeep Singh, 40, of India, in Fairfield, CA. Singh illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico in 2023. Singh is wanted in Germany for attempted murder. He is in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings.”

Authorities have not publicly provided additional details about the German warrant or the underlying case.

ICE has also detained several other Indian nationals in separate enforcement actions across the US in recent years, primarily involving individuals with prior criminal records or pending removal orders.
