Indian & National in INC are gone, it’s sibling party, says JP Nadda

BENGALURU: BJP national president JP Nadda on Sunday said the Indian National Congress (INC) has been reduced to a 'brother and sister party'.

“The ‘Indian’ and ‘National’ in the Indian National Congress have been wiped out. It is neither Indian nor national, as the party is in power only in just two states. The Congress, your main rival in the upcoming 2023 elections, has become only a party of brother and sister,” Nadda said at the state unit’s executive committee meeting.

Steering clear of reference to corruption as the BJP itself has been rocked by allegations that led to RDPR minister KS Eshwarappa’s resignation and the Congress’ protests, he focused on dynastic politics and the advantage of the BJP having no links to dynasties.

Counting all the states where the opposition parties have dynastic politics, Nadda said the only true national party is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“This is the message that needs to be conveyed to the last standing man in our society, be it the oppressed, denied, poor or the Dalit, that the BJP is the only party that is standing with them,” he said.

Lauding the BJP government’s schemes that were presented by the Basavaraj Bommai government, Nadda said the state BJP is in a strong position of projecting the “double engine” government in the 2023 elections to ensure a 150-plus victory.

“We need to create awareness among the people about the schemes which have impacted their lives,” said Nadda. He also expressed satisfaction over the two-day meeting having discussed the road map to victory at the upcoming elections. “...And with the blessings of BS Yediyurappa, I believe that you (state unit) have created a comprehensive road map for the polls,” he said.
