With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, alternative remedies and miracle cures have been flooding TV and social media in India. One of their strongest promoters is none other than the Indian Hindu nationalist government of PM Narendra Modi, determined to promote traditional therapies such as Ayurveda. As a result, many medicines are sold without any scientific basis and the Indian Medical Association is increasingly concerned at the risk of citizens being duped. Our correspondents report.
