Ahmedabad Weather: IMD forecast for India vs Pakistan match day

NEW DELHI: Cricket enthusiasts and fans of the traditional rivalry between India and Pakistan can breathe a sigh of relief as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an encouraging forecast for the much-awaited ICC World Cup match in Ahmedabad.

The IMD indicated that there are no signs of rainfall on Saturday, dispelling earlier predictions of drizzling in the southern parts of Ahmedabad.

The highly anticipated fixture of the ODI World Cup begins at 2 pm on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which is the world's largest cricket venue.

The IMD's latest statement assures clear skies and rules out any possibility of rain for the next 48 hours, setting the stage for an uninterrupted and action-packed contest.

The cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan is renowned worldwide for its intensity and passion, attracting significant global viewership. As the match day approaches, both teams are gearing up for an electrifying showdown at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India, riding a wave of confidence after securing two consecutive victories, will square off against their traditional rivals, Pakistan, in this highly anticipated clash. The match holds particular significance, given India's recent successes in their Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan.

It's worth noting that a group stage match between the two cricketing giants was abandoned due to rain, while India delivered a resounding victory in the subsequent Super Four stage encounter.

In the ongoing World Cup campaign, India began with an impressive win over Australia, while Pakistan have already notched two victories, creating momentum and anticipation for this marquee showdown.

Expectations are high as fans hope that the star-studded Men in Blue, including Virat Kohli, skipper Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Mohammed Siraj, will maintain their consistent performances to extend India's winning streak against Pakistan in 50-over World Cups. The dream of an 8-0 win in World Cup encounters against their arch-rivals is very much alive.

India currently maintains a dominant head-to-head record in ODI World Cup matches against Pakistan, boasting a 100 percent win record with seven victories.
