After wrapping up yet another ODI series win at home, Team India will now go toe to toe with the visiting Kiwis in a 3 match T20I series.

The series begins today (Friday, January 27) with the first T20I in Ranchi. Ahead of the game, former India captain MS Dhoni visited the Indian dressing room and interacted with the current squad.

India are the number 1 ranked T20I team in the world and the players who were part of the ODI series win will be very high on confidence.

This is an ODI World Cup year, so the focus is largely on the 50 over game this year, but T20Is are always very exciting to watch and the fans are hoping for a great contest, despite the fact that some of the big names will be missing in both squads.

- No Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli for this 3 match T20I series against the Black Caps

- Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the series with a wrist injury

- Pandya has indicated that Shubman Gill will open the batting for India. The other opener is likely to Ishan Kishan, who will also keep wickets

- For NZ, Michael Santer will be donning the captain's hat

- There is no Trent Boult or Tim Southee for the Kiwis

- 27 year old left arm pacer from Auckland Benjamin Lister is likely to make his debut

- India have not lost a T20I in Ranchi so far, winning all the three played before this
