DHAKA: Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara on Friday reached the landmark of 7,000 Test runs, going past the legendary Don Bradman's tally while playing against Bangladesh in the first innings of the second Test here.
Pujara completed his 7,000 runs in the longest format, overtaking Bradman's 6,996 runs during play on day two at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.
Pujara swept Shakib Al Hasan in the 19th over of the day for three runs to reach the milestone. He was later dismissed by Taijul Islam for 24, as India reached 86/3 at lunch on Friday. The visitors had bowled out Bangladesh for 227 in their first innings.
The right-handed batsman became the eighth Indian to score 7,000 Test runs.
