NEW DELHI: Rain did not allow even the toss to happen on Saturday in India's day-night warm-up fixture against Australia's Prime Minister's XI, and the weather looks gloomy for day two as well, which can upset the visitors' plans of getting some practice ahead of the pink-ball Test against the Aussies in Adelaide.
It drizzled almost continuously at the Manuka Oval, keeping players indoors and the pitch under covers before play was abandoned by the umpires under dark skies.
Both the teams have agreed to turn the game into a 50-overs-a-side match on the final day, which will allow the Indian team to both bat and bowl with the pink ball.
However, the local weather department has predicted rain to continue on Sunday, with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorm in the afternoon.
