India vs Australia Adelaide Test to begin with tributes to late Phillip Hughes

The second Test between India and Australia in Adelaide, which will be a day-night affair, will begin with a tribute to the late Aussie batter Phillip Hughes, who died 10 years ago after a ball struck him in the neck during a domestic match.

Beginning on December 6, the Adelaide Test will see a documentary on Hughes being played before the first ball is bowled. It is produced by the home association and the Hughes family.

"We understand this will be a time of reflection for the many people who knew and admired Phillip Hughes," Cricket Australia CEO, Nick Hockley, said, as quoted by the International Cricket Council website.

"We wanted to ensure that the Hughes family, particularly, were comfortable with any commemorations and that we celebrate Phillip's life and incredible achievements appropriately," he added.

Hughes's 10-year death anniversary will also see tributes being paid to him in the Sheffield Shield, where the upcoming three matches will have the players wearing black armbands and the flags will fly at half-mast.
