India to open campaign against West Indies in 2025 Women's U19 T20 World Cup

Reigning champions India are set to kick off their campaign against the West Indies in the second edition of the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup, which will take place in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2, 2023.

India find themselves in Group A alongside hosts Malaysia, West Indies, and Sri Lanka. India emerged victorious against England to clinch the inaugural edition of the tournament held in South Africa last year.

Group B consists of England, Ireland, Pakistan and the USA, while Group C comprises South Africa, New Zealand, newcomers Samoa and a qualifier from Africa. Australia, Bangladesh, Scotland, and a qualifier from Asia make up Group D.

During the round-robin phase, each team will face the other sides in their group, resulting in three matches per team in the group stage.

The top three sides from all four groups will then progress to the Super Six stage.

On January 24, the bottom-ranked teams from Groups A and D, as well as B and C, will participate in a play-off to determine the final standings.

The Super Six stage is divided into two groups, with Group 1 consisting of the top three teams from Groups A and D, and Group 2 comprising the top three teams from Groups B and C.

The top two teams from each group in the Super Six stage will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for January 31, with the final set to take place on February 2.

Bayuemas Oval will host both the semifinals and the final. If India qualify for the semifinals, they will play semifinal 2, which will take place on January 31.

Both the semifinals and the final have reserve days allocated. February 1 serves as the reserve day for the semifinals, while February 3 is designated as the reserve day for the final.
