A picture posted on social media by India's first openly gay athlete Dutee Chand has fueled speculations of her marriage with her girlfriend. However, the Odisha sprinter's manager has refuted those claims.
Dutee tweeted the picture with her partner, clicked at a wedding stage. She captioned it: "Loved you yesterday, love you still, always have, always will".
But it was later clarified that it was the marriage of Dutee's sister, and the Asian Games silver medallist had attended that with her partner.
"No," Dutee's manager told ANI when asked if the two have got married. "They both attended Dutee's sister's wedding."
Chand came out as gay in 2019.
She won silver medals in women's 100m and 200m evets at the 2018 Asian Games.
