INDORE:The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore celebrated its 25th Foundation Day on Sunday.
India Post released a special cover and a stamp marking the silver jubilee year of the institute.
On the occasion, the institute felicitated faculty and employees for their services. Professor Jatin Pandey and Professor Manoj Motiani were presented the Best Teacher Award.
IIM, Indore, director Professor Himanshu Rai said: “The institute stands firm on its mission to remain contextually relevant and develop socially conscious leaders, managers and entrepreneurs, who are determined to contribute to nation building.” He said the institute has now foreign collaborations with over 40 universities in 16 nations. It has also joined hands with the MP and UP government to extend its expertise in development and management.
The media and PR committee of IIM, Indore, launched an official podcast – The I-View — on the occasion. An IIM Indore campus application, Pocket-I, was also launched. It will help the institute’s community members to connect, document notes and timetables, get information about vendors on campus and sports facilities.
The institute awarded Certificate of Academic Excellence to top five percentile of the postgraduate programme in management, postgraduate programme in human resource management and integrated programme in management participants. A global management consulting firm for Indian operations managing director Alpesh Shah was chief guest. On the occasion, he said, “It has been said that 50% of brains in this world are women and we must have gender equality in every organisation to become successful. IIM Indore has more than 42 % of female participants which is remarkable and now 50% would be a good target to have.”
