MUMBAI: India pacer Shardul Thakur, who hails from Palghar near Mumbai, has been 'bowled' off the field. The Mumbai fast bowler got engaged with his girlfriend Mittali Parulkar on Monday, TOI has learnt.
The 30-year-old pace bowling allrounder, who's played gotfour Tests, 15 ODIs and 24 T20Is, is currently on a break, and has been rested from the home series against New Zealand after returning from the T20 World Cup.
"There is a small engagement function at the Mumbai Cricket Association's facility in BKC on Monday, for which he has invited 75-odd guests-mostly close friends and family members. The wedding is likely to take place after the T20 World Cup in Australia next year," a source close to the player told TOI.
Amongst those who attended Thakur's engagement on Monday were India T20I captain Rohit Sharma, ex-India player Abhishek Nayar and Mumbai players Aditya Tare and Siddhesh Lad.
