India Issues 48-Hour Advisory for Citizens in Iran as Situation Worsens

In a statement shared on X, the Indian Embassy in Iran advised citizens to stay where they are and strictly avoid sensitive locations. “In continuation of previous advisories, Indian nationals who are still in Iran must stay where they are for the next 48 hours, avoiding all electric and military installations, as well as upper floors of multi-storey buildings. They are advised to remain indoors and coordinate any highway movement strictly with the Embassy,” the statement said.

The embassy further instructed those staying in embassy-arranged accommodations to remain inside and maintain regular contact with on-site embassy teams. It also urged all Indian nationals to closely monitor official updates. Emergency helpline numbers provided by the embassy remain active for assistance.

The advisory comes amid rapidly rising tensions in Iran following a series of developments involving the United States and Israel. Former US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Tehran, stating that “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” while setting a deadline for compliance with US demands.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that US and Israeli forces have carried out fresh strikes targeting key strategic locations, including Kharg Island and several major infrastructure sites such as bridges.

With the situation becoming increasingly volatile, Indian authorities have emphasized caution and safety, urging citizens in Iran to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to the advisory.
