India bat first in 3rd T20I, Deepak Chahar included in squad for remainder of series

NEW DELHI: Australia skipper Matthew Wade won the toss and opted to bowl against India in their third T20I in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Looking to take an unassailable 3-0 lead, India made a solitary change in their playing XI, bringing in Avesh Khan in place of Mukesh Kumar, who has taken a break for his marriage.

"Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the third T20I against Australia in Guwahati. Mukesh is getting married and has been granted leave for the duration of his wedding festivities. He will join the squad ahead of the 4th T20I in Raipur," a BCCI release said.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Deepak Chahar has also been added to the squad for the remainder of the series, following a six-wicket haul in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Australia brought in Travis Head, Aaron Hardie, Jason Behrendorff and Kane Richardson.

Teams

India: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan (wk), Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Prasidh Krishna.

Australia: Matthew Wade (c/wk), Travis Head, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Jason Behrendorff, Tanveer Sangha and Kane Richardson.
