India bags silver at World bridge

The India senior team — comprising Ashok Goel, Anil Padhye, Rajesh Dalal, Sukmal Das, Subroto Saha and R. Krishnan — bagged the World bridge championships silver, the country’s first ever at the meet.

India advanced to the knockouts in the fifth spot after 23 rounds of Swiss League. In the quarterfinals, India beat fancied USA-1 before getting past France in the semifinals.
