Labour's Ian Austin has become the ninth MP to quit the party.
Dudley North MP Mr Austin told his local paper, the Express and Star, that Labour was “broken” over anti-Semitism and its shift to the left under Jeremy Corbyn.
However, Mr Austin said he has no plans to join the Independent Group formed by eight Labour and three Tory defectors earlier this week.
It comes as Westminster remains on high alert for news of further disgruntled MPs quitting the Conservatives and Labour.
