Independent coffee shop to open in grade II listed building on Park Street

An independent coffee shop is set to open in a grade II listed building in Bristol later this month.

C.U.P is planning to open its doors at 76 Park, which was previously occupied by menswear company Moss Bros.

The property, which was severely damaged during the Second World War, underwent a major refurbishment after property developers Urban Creation bought up the site in 2018.

The independent café has agreed a new 10-year lease on 815 sq ft of space on the ground-floor of the building, which will be below  student flats.

Estate agency Savills signed the deal on behalf of Urban Creation.

Rob Palmer, associate director at estate agency Savills Bristol office, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming C.U.P to what is one of Bristol’s most renowned streets.

"Park Street exemplifies Bristol’s appeal to local and independent brands, which offer something unique.

"We are continuing to see a huge rise in enquiries from smaller companies and are excited to be bringing forward further opportunities in Park Street and beyond.”

Urban Creation is also behind the pre-fabricated flats at 50 Park Street, which were built in Southampton and 'dropped' into the empty shell of a former night club using cranes.

When Urban Creation bought the property it was empty and in a dilapidated condition.
