Independent city centre bar's heartbreaking confession as it debates closing for good due to 'big battles ahead'

A Liverpool city centre café bar has confessed its future is uncertain and its team are debating closing for good.

Sound , based on Duke Street, has taken to its Facebook page to reveal its debate to its customers and even opened its next steps up to a poll.

A statement posted last night said: "We are at a crossroads here at Sound HQ.

"We can't quite decide if we are beaten, there are some big battles ahead. We are looking back at all the boss times and wondering should we just leave it at that.

"This is our question to you, do we..."

Sound, based on Duke Street took to Facebook to reveal its struggle to its fans (Google Maps)

Two options were posted below for its followers to choose from; call it a day, it's time or Crowdfund, keep fighting.

The poll has received more than 1,000 votes and its statement has attracted plenty of comments too, many from people offering to help support the struggling business.

Sutton Barry said: "I will do whatever it takes to help. much love y'all."

Matherine Kurphy said: "100% on board to help keep you guys going."

And, Buddy S. Keenan said: "A place too precious to lose. The best gigs I've ever seen were in that basement and I want to see many more.

"Fight the power guys."

Others were quick to praise the food on offer at Sound. With one Facebook user saying: "Had many great nights in sound not to mention the fab food, best chips I've ever had! If you haven't tried them folks you seriously need to."

Sound opened on Duke Street back in August 2016 and describes itself as a "friendly, relaxed independent café/bar in the heart of Liverpool's Ropewalks district."
