Indefinite strike by NSUI students over 3 demands

JAIPUR: The students of National Students Union of India (NSUI) have started their indefinite strike here on Tuesday over three demands.

Their demands are reducing syllabus by 50%, returning of fees of students who were declared fail in the current session and to organise due paper for honours students.

NSUI students sat in front of the Rajasthan University (RU) vice-chancellor’s secretariat chanting slogans to get their demands fulfilled.

NSUI spokesperson Ramesh Bhati said, “Last year, university promoted students for next batch and took their final examination of previous batch later. Now, the students who have already paid fees for next session are declared fail in the examination of previous session. It is necessary for the university to pay their fees back.”

Another issue is to decrease the syllabus by 50% this year as well. The students claimed that university was functioning online for major part of the session and the syllabus was not completed by the university faculty members. Hence, students are demanding to reduce the syllabus. tnn
