IND vs AUS - 'If we manage to win one match ... ': Ravindra Jadeja ahead of Melbourne Test

NEW DELHI: Team India previously achieved back-to-back Test series victories in Australia, first under Virat Kohli's captaincy in 2018-19 and then with Ajinkya Rahane leading in 2020-21. Now, the team is aiming for an unprecedented third consecutive triumph Down Under under Rohit Sharma's leadership.

The five-match Test series is currently tied at 1-1.

With two Tests remaining, India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is optimistic about India clinching their third straight Border-Gavaskar Trophy title.

India began the series with an emphatic 295-run win in Perth but faced a 10-wicket defeat in Adelaide. The rain-marred third Test in Brisbane ended in a draw.

The fourth Test, set to begin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26, is expected to be a crucial encounter. Jadeja remains confident that India will deliver a strong performance to take the lead.

"We are in a good position. After three matches the series is at 1-1. The remaining two matches are going to be interesting. If we manage to win one match out of these two, we can retain the series. We won the last two series here. It is again a good opportunity for us. MCG Test is going to be crucial for us," Jadeja told reporters at the MCG.

Jadeja has featured in only one Test so far in the series. While he did not take a wicket, he impressed with a stellar 77-run knock in the drawn Brisbane Test.

"The first two Tests I didn’t play, but it gave me an opportunity to practice and get used to the conditions. All the time, I got to understand the conditions, bowl on these pitches and bat on these pitches, it made me familiar with these conditions. All the hard work in the nets helped me in the match," Jadeja added.
