One Cavan man really had luck on his side over the last week as he landed himself a whopping €15,000 payday not once, but twice.
Thomas Cochrane, a superstitious punter, has never told anybody his lucky numbers and placed a €10 bet on his favoured three to be drawn in last Friday's EuroMillions draw at his local BoyleSports in Cootehill.
And his belief finally paid off as he bagged a handsome €15,000 from the bet - but his luck doesn't end there.
On Tuesday, Cochrane rolled the dice again with the same bet on the EuroMillions draw and was left stunned as he scooped another €15,000 to take his total winnings to €30,000 in just four days.
“I do the same numbers in the EuroMillions draw every week ever since the BoyleSports shop opened up in Cootehill. I’m a very superstitious person so I never tell anyone my numbers and it has worked out well for me so far," he said.
"The staff are excellent here and the customer service I have received is top class. I’m looking forward to spending my winnings”.
The chances of winning the bet just once is an unlikely 1,500/1, but the Cavan man's luck has seen him pull off the whopping 2,250,000/1 wager.
