Incredibly beautiful West Country beach you can drive on with a lovely pub

Temperatures are finally starting to warm up, which means more and more people will be heading to the West Country's beautiful coast to soak up some sunshine.

Along the Bristol Channel there are some stunning stretches of coastline, including Weston, Clevedon and Sandy Bay. But for people who want to venture a bit further, the pretty village of Seatown boasts a stunning beach with walks where you can drive your car quite literally right on to the beach.

You can park up and either head straight for the beach or take one of the magnificent cliff walks with incredible views over Golden Cap and beyond, reports Somerset Live.

There is a great pub right on the sea called The Anchor Inn with beautiful seafood where you can sip a glass of wine and eat fresh fish while enjoying the fantastic views daytime or evening.

In high summer there is a pizza oven right on the beach and a cafe shack serving great coffee. It is so easy to get to as you can park right near the strand and it is a real hub, the perfect place for a family day out on the coast.

If you want to make a holiday of the trip there is a lovely campsite right on the beach with fantastic picnic areas and grocery shop. Seatown is not as busy as its neighbour Lyme Regis and it is somewhere you can leave all your cares behind on a beach.

The pub really is lovely, it is so old and rustic inside and with great terraces overlooking the sea.

A nice thing to do is either book a room at the pub so you can enjoy a glass or two of Rose with your seafood, or camp nearby at the Golden Cap campsite where the facilities really are fantastic, hot showers, regularly cleaned toilets, shops, picnic areas, it is a very well maintained campsite.

The sea is lovely for swimming at Seatown and your car will be just minutes away if you are thinking of a day trip. With another bank holiday this weekend, it might be a good option for families wanting a break without the hassle of a long drive or flight.

It takes around an hour and 45 minutes to drive to Seatown from Bristol.
