Incredible video emerges of elderly woman busting impressive shapes to Bristol DJ's set

A Bristol DJ has described the moment an elderly woman busted some impressive shapes in front of the decks during his set at the weekend.

Jon Kennard, whose DJ name is Jon Leisure, was playing at the Corn Street party on Sunday afternoon, where there were lots of people having a low-key boogie as they perused the numerous market stalls on offer.

But as the event began to wind down just after 4pm, a dancer came along and completely stole the show: meet Doris.

The 81-year-old was on her way to the Hippodrome but just couldn't resist a little jig en route, explained the DJ.

"The street party was great and it was really busy all day," said the 41-year-old, who has an eclectic record collection.

"When the rain came down it started to wind down a bit, but then Doris came along. She came up to me and was incredibly polite, she said, 'Do you mind if I put my bag down there? I just have to have a dance.'"

"Of course I told her to go for it to which she replied 'I've always had rhythm' and without further ado she was off. She's definitely up there with the best dancers I've ever seen. In the top three for sure.

"She must have been dancing for around 10 minutes and drew quite a large crowd, who loved every minute.

"Since the video was shared on social media my mates have said I should take her out to Ibiza with me, where I'm playing later this summer."

Doris finished her display and headed on her way to the theatre - but not before offering Jon a boiled sweet, which he gladly accepted. The paid then chatted about their shared appreciation for Michael Flately.

"I told her that if I had even half the vitality she's got I'd be delighted," added Jon.

The track which caught Doris' attention was a remix of Prince's 1990 hit Kiss by Dr. Packer, which Jon then mixed into James Brown's funky classic Give It Up pr Turn It a Loose.

The video was taken by Meg Pope, who works for Bristol food PR agency Duchess Media, and has attracted more than 2,000 views on social media.
