A mum and daughter who tipped the scales at a combined 44st are enjoying a curvier new look after giving up junk food.
Angela and Katie Warrell, from Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, have shed 15st between them after eating their way to 24 and 20 stone respectively.
Angela used to eat the equivalent of 35 packets of crisps and drink more than a dozen cans of Coke a week, while her daughter would gorge on chocs and sweets.
They decided enough was enough in December 2019 when Angela couldn’t fit a seat belt around her on a flight to visit son Tom in Canada.
They joined Portsoy Slimming World and transformed their lives by swapping the high calorie treats for fruit.
Angela, 63, has lost 9st and dropped seven dress sizes to 14-16, while cashier Katie, 32, has lost 6st.
Katie said: “It was hard at first but it gets easier when you see the weight coming off.”
Angela, now 14st 13lb, added: “I’m looking forward to going on a plane and not asking for an extension.”
