Incredible picture of Edinburgh's 'three bridges' from the sky goes viral

If you wake up in time for landing then you've probably been there: scrambling to take a picture of the three iconic bridges before you touch down in Edinburgh Airport.

The Firth of Forth's three bridges are an incredible sight from the ground and possibly even more so from the sky, it would seem, after a picture from an airplane went viral on Twitter.

User @wearyprovo shared the snap, which captures The Forth Rail Bridge, The Forth Road Bridge and The Queensferry Crossing, online and it's proved a huge hit.

He wrote: "Ave tried many a time to catch the three bridges coming into Edinburgh Airport and there you go ma mate got it."

The spectacular shot has already racked up over 5,000 likes and saw others share their own pictures from the skies before landing and shared their thoughts.

One wrote: Great pic...proud to come from South Queensferry...born at home in between the Rail and Forth bridges. My old man was a painter on the Rail bridge!"

"Too, too scared to look but assured the very best view of Edinburgh and beyond from the sky. Significant memories for us via the Forth Road Rail Bridge", another added.

"That's a great picture. Remember flying home from Florida years ago and seeing the bridge lit up at night. That was before camera phones though", said one.

Whilst another person was left confused, asking: "Why so many bridges?".

Others posted their "efforts" below, which included stunning snaps of the historic bridges from a number of different angles in all their glory.

Another added: "Wow well done, I remember passing them on the train but it's always been too cloudy the 3 times that I have flown up to Scotland."

One local even said he could see his "hoose".
