Incredible motorbike that turns into flying hover cycle on sale for £380k

Bikers could soon rule the road with a motorbike that transforms from a road racer into a hover cycle.

French manufacturer Lazareth is making the LMV496, a vehicle powered on the road by an electric motor which features four jet engines to provide a flight time of ten minutes.

With a simple flick of a switch, bikers will allegedly be able to click into flying mode using a switch on the dashboard. It's neat jet engines are fuelled by kerosene, paraffin, giving the bike ten minutes in the air.

Each of the electric motorcycle's four-wheels acts as an air rotor, with the wheels folding out in air turning it into a quadcopter, essentially a drone that has a motor and propellor.

The dashboard will automatically send the flight information to the pilot, including speed, altitude, position and engine speed.

The bike turbines use around 1,300 horsepower for 2,800N of thrust. It's bodywork has been made from kevlar carbon composite, which makes it tough and resistant from abrasions.

At the moment, Lazareth is working to build five prototypes, which will go on sale to members of the public for around £380,000.

The jet needs about sixty seconds to heat up before launch. A recent test-run of the bike saw the large vehicle only get 3.3 feet off the ground, according to WebBikeWorld.

According to the firm the bike will be easy to control: "The driving position and light steering of the LMV496 provide immediate handling.

"Braking and undercarriage technology is directly inspired by Lazareth vehicles. The suspensions have been entrusted to our partner TFX Suspension Technology."

People can already place an order for the futuristic bike via Lazareth.
