Incredible moment two boys are pulled from Venezuela earthquake rubble

  • Two 11-year-old boys were among 33 people pulled alive from rubble in Venezuela days after twin earthquakes devastated the country, as the death toll surpassed 1,400.
  • The first boy, Moises, was rescued from three metres of debris by Colombian teams, while a second boy was later filmed being carried from ruins in Caraballeda.
  • US and French rescuers also saved an infant, a father, and his son, though hopes of finding more survivors are fading after the critical 72-hour window passed on Saturday evening.
  • Interim president Delcy Rodriguez reported over 3,000 injuries and more than 770 buildings totally or partially collapsed, with the US Geological Survey estimating the final death toll could exceed 10,000.
  • International rescue teams from multiple countries, including the US, UK, and Mexico, have joined efforts, while the EU mobilised €5m in emergency assistance, amidst growing frustration over the government's slow response.
