Incredible moment toddler takes her first steps after undergoing four brain surgeries

Incredible footage shows the moment a toddler beat the odds by learning to walk after undergoing four painstaking brain surgeries.

Seventeen-month-old Lennyn Lyons was all smiles as she took her first steps at her home in Holiday, Florida on Valentine’s Day.

Mum Brianna Unger caught the inspiring moment on camera and posted it on her personal Twitter page.

The video shows Lennyn standing up and starting to walk, using her arms to balance herself.

“Yeah, girl! Come on!” Lennyn’s mother can be heard saying in the video as she encourages the toddler, who briefly stumbles on the floor.

But Lennyn manages to pick herself up again and continues to walk.

Brianna told Storyful that Lennyn suffers from Hydrocephalus and PVL that were caused by a bilateral brain bleed when she was born.

Hydrocephalus is a condition in which an accumulation of spinal fluid occurs within the brain which can result in increased pressure inside the skull.

In the past 17 months alone, Lennyn had endured four brain surgeries to combat Hydrocephalus, sepsis, and a staph infection.

Brianna Unger said that doctors warned her family that her daughter may never walk independently.

“She is a miracle,” Brianna said. "Lennyn is the prime example of hard work and lots of love can move mountains and how resilient babies are. "
