Incredible moment Edinburgh bagpiper and African drummer captured jamming in city centre

A TikTok star from Edinburgh shared a clip on the social media platform showing why "Scotland is quite frankly the best", and it has since been viewed tens of thousands of times.

User mathewssonya shared a video earlier this week taken outside of the National Records of Scotland building on Princes Street.

In the TikTok, two men can be seen making music together, one playing the bagpipes and the other playing a djembe drum — an instrument that originates from West Africa.

The caption of the video states: "Why Scotland is quite frankly the best. I forgot I had this video and had to share it!"

The two men are in fact a musical duo called Afridonia, consisting of Neil MacLure and "King of Rhythm" Sami Okoo.

As stated on their website: "Neil and Sami first played together for a charity event during the 2010 Edinburgh Festival and have played together ever since.

"The fusion of Bagpipes and Djembi produces an unusually rich sound with a variety of tones and colours from the Djembi."

Since being shared, the TikTok video has received more than 6,000 likes and over 120 comments from fellow users.

One wrote: "Perfectly represents Scotland and its culture".

A second agreed: "I love what diversity brings to our country. So beautiful."

A third shared: "Love it saw a similar melting of cultures in Glasgow it was a guy on pipes and a guy with steel drums it was amazing".

"I get goose bumps," revealed a fourth.
