'Incredible' - former Leeds United man lauds Nottingham Forest star after promotion battle

Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills praised “incredible” Joe Lolley after his performance in Nottingham Forest’s big victory on Saturday night.

The Reds took a huge step toward their promotion dream at the City Ground as they beat Marcelo Bielsa’s men 2-0, moving to within one point of them and the automatic spots at the top of the table.

Lolley was instrumental in that victory, which was sealed thanks to a goal in either half from Sammy Ameobi and substitute Tyler Walker.

It was Lolley’s breakaway at the death, robbing Jack Harrison of possession inside his own half, that presented Walker with the easiest of opportunities to make it 2-0.

He should have had another assist to his name earlier in the second half when he went on a superb solo run and squared for Lewis Grabban, but the striker was denied by Kiko Casilla when it seemed easier to score.

Mills was full of praise for the former Huddersfield Town man.

“He played incredible, incredibly well,” Mills told Football Insider.

“How Lewis Grabban didn’t score when he was clean through, I do not know. That was just incredible. No idea.

“It was harder to do that than it was the other way round.

“It was great play from Lolley and all he needed to do was roll it into an empty net.”
