Stunning footage of the Scottish Highlands has been captured from the cockpit of an RAF plane during a training exercise.
The incredible clip gives a birds-eye view of rolling hills and rugged terrain from the pilots' seat of a powerful Hercules plane.
The video was taken during Exercise Tartan Spirit, where two of the C-130J Hercules aircraft were deployed to Prestwick Airport.
Navigating through clouds, the planes conducted a range of essential military flying training in the mountainous terrain.
The biannual deployment saw the aircrew of XXIV, 47 and 206 Squadrons take to the skies over Scotland for a range of manoeuvres including formation flying, operational low flying and C-130J conversion course.
During the six days, squadron Instructors delivered training to crews in scenarios such as low-level resupply, formation flying and the utilisation of Night Vision Goggles (NVGs), with in over 25 qualifications being awarded.
Wing Commander McIntyre, Officer Commanding XXIV Squadron said: "Exercise Tartan Spirit puts us closer to mountainous terrain and remote from RAF support within the deployed setting of Prestwick Airport.
“We’ve been delivering under COVID-19 conditions for six months now, but it was fantastic to see the various teams at both RAF Brize Norton and Prestwick pull together to overcome some significant challenges to enable the delivery of a vital Exercise for the C-130J Force.”
