Incredible drone pictures of passage tombs in Boyne Valley captured by Irish historian

These are the stunning snaps of Ireland’s premier historic site that author Anthony Murphy captured on a recent frosty morning.

The historian from Drogheda, Co Louth, took the idyllic shots using a drone.

He said: “I had been waiting to fly the drone during the winter.

“I was waiting for the perfect morning with frost and mist.

“I captured all three of the great monuments on the same morning and it had been my intention to do so for some time.

“It was early in the morning and the sun was low.”

Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth are the three well known passage tombs at the Brú na Bóinne site.

They were built more than 5,000 years ago.

Anthony added: “They are extraordinary structures.

“It is a vast complex of monuments.”

Battling the coronavirus cabin fever, Anthony has been giving live myths and legends storytelling online to entertain history buffs around the world.
