Increasing concern for safety of Govan man missing for over two weeks

Police are appealing for help to trace a man who has been missing from the Govan area for over two weeks.

Vincent Barr, 54, was last seen on CCTV leaving the city centre over the Tradeston footbridge (aka the ‘squiggly’ bridge) and walking into the Tradeston area at 9:10 pm on Friday, 18 September, 2020.

Vincent, also known as 'Vinny' or 'Bardot', is described as white, 5ft 6in in height, medium build, short light brown hair and brown eyes. He walks with a slight limp. When last seen he was wearing a grey Nike hoodie, black jogging bottoms and grey training shoes.

Sergeant Bob Anderson, Helen Street Police Station, said: “Officers have been making significant enquiries since Vincent was reported missing including following up a number of potential sightings of him in the city centre.

To date however, Vincent has not been found and as such concerns for his safety and well-being are increasing. Vincent tends to keep himself to himself.

He frequents Glasgow city centre, and also the west end, Saracen and Possil areas of Glasgow. I would urge members of the public or those who know Vincent to report any possible sightings of him to police. I also appeal directly to Vincent to please get in touch with someone to confirm that he is safe and well."

Anyone with information is requested to contact Helen Street Police Station, Govan, via 101, quoting incident number 1116 of Sunday 20th September 2020".
