Inconsolable little boy needs city's help after losing his ‘irreplaceable’ teddy

A four-year-old boy is inconsolable after losing his “irreplaceable” teddy during a weekend trip to Liverpool.

Anna Jones was with her partner and two boys - Tomos, 13, and Carwyn, four, last weekend when her youngest son lost his favourite toy.

Known affectionately as ‘Mousey’ the soft toy has Carwyn’s name on its front and has been his constant companion since the day he was born.

The 33-year-old mum from Wrexham said: “We went for a weekend away in an apartment in Liverpool and when I got back home to unpack I realised he hadn’t made it home with us.

“I was gutted, he’s had Mousey since he was born and he sleeps with it every single night. Every time we go out he has to come out with us.”

The family were staying in an apartment on Lydiate Ann Street in the city centre from Saturday 5 to Monday 7, September.

Anna said they spent time at the docks and shopping in the city centre, as well as visiting the Tate and Walker art galleries and the World Museum.

Posting a desperate plea to find ‘Mousey’ on Facebook, Anna said: “I know this is a long shot but Carwyn lost his teddy in Liverpool last weekend we have no idea where!

“He’s so sad and I’m gutted he’s had him since birth!

“Please share guys!!! .... I can’t get the same one from anywhere I've been looking for days and he means so much to Carwyn .”

Anna contacted the cleaning team to see if her son had left his toy at the apartment but despite thorough checks nothing has been found.

The toy is no longer sold and so Anna said she can’t even order him a new one.

She added: “Mousey is now dirtier and he’s got purple pen on him.

“That’s quite an old picture but his name is still on there, he’s just been a little bit over-loved.

“Carwyn’s really, really missing him.”
