Income and earnings rise at credit management services provider Arrow Global ahead of acquisition by TDR Capital

Total income and EBITDA increased during the first three months of 2021 at a Manchester-headquartered credit management services provider in the process of being bought by a private equity firm which helped the billionaire brothers behind EG Group acquire Asda.

Arrow Global has reported a total income of £78.2m for the three months to March 31, 2021, up from £77.1m during the same period in 2020.

The listed group's EBITDA also rose from £26.5m to £27.1m but its pre-tax profits dipped from £9m to £7.9m.

The results come after Arrow Global received a preliminary, conditional proposal from TDR Capital on February 8 for a possible cash offer of 305 pence per share for the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital.

On February 22, TDR Capital made a revised proposal of 307.5 pence per share in cash, and revealed in March, which was then accepted.

The move from TDR Capital came after it partnered with EG Group's Zuber and Mohsin Issa to complete a £6.8bn deal for Asda.

The firm also has investments in the likes of David Lloyd Leisure, Keepmoat Homes and Stonegate Pub Company.

It has previously backed Pizza Express, Lowell Group and International Car Wash Group.

Group chief executive Lee Rochford said: "Arrow has had a good start to the year, due to the strong commitment and dedication of colleagues and their relentless focus on maintaining excellent service to customers and clients.

"I am immensely proud of the high level of engagement shown across the group, despite the operational challenges due to the continued lockdowns in our European markets.

"Our successful track record and the economic dislocation from the pandemic means we are well positioned to benefit from significant investment and asset servicing opportunities in our chosen markets."
