Emergency services are currently attending to a crash in Whitefield.
The incident happened on the A56 Bury New Road at around 9.30am.
The southbound carriageway has been closed from near the M60 roundabout to Barn Street.
Drivers are asked to find alternative routes to avoid delays.
There is currently queuing traffic on approach to the incident. It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.
