Incentives would be given to doctors, staff, to encourage normal deliveries. The announcement was made by Telangana Minister for Health T. Harish Rao at a review meeting on functioning of primary health centres (PHC) in the State, on Tuesday.
Aarogyasri Health Scheme would be spread to the PHCs also. Instructions were issued to enroll all of the health centres in the scheme.
Medicines availability, services provided to people, health surveys, and others aspects were discussed at the review meeting with district medical and health officers (DMHO), medical officers, programme officers, and others.
Doctors and staff were directed to be available at PHCs for people from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Emergency services have to be available at the health centres which have to function round-the-clock.
The health officials were asked to ensure all medicines are available, especially the drugs used in treatment of dog bites, snake bites. Action would be taken if medicines are not available, or if prescribed to be bought outside.
DMHOs, deputy DMHOs, and engineers were asked to inspect PHC buildings and submit reports in a week to take up repairs. The Minister for Health said that new buildings would be constructed if need be.
